RED HAT LINUX 6.2 / 7.3 zip command

If someone need to compress a directory without changing its ownership and mode, can try this command:
#]tar zcvvf 123.tar.gz "directory name"

When come to uncompress the 123.tar.gz :
#]tar zxvvf 123.tar.gz
